The Assumption of St. Anna July 25
On July 25, our Church celebrates the Dormition of its Venerable Mother Theotokos. For the Saint Anna we do not have much information from the Holy Bible, but from the secret books of our Church.
Η Saint Anna A descendant of Levi, she was the daughter of the priest Mathan and Mary. This couple lived in the time of Cleopatra and Sosipater, the king of Persia. St. Anna had two more sisters, Mary and Sauvin.
Mary married in Bethlehem and gave birth to Salome the midwife. Saubin also married in Bethlehem and gave birth to Elizabeth. Anna married Joachim and they lived in Galilee and gave birth to Our Lady. So Salome, Elizabeth and the Virgin Mary are first cousins.
In the course of the ecclesiastical year we celebrate St. Anna many times: December 9 the Assumption of St. Anna, September 9 the Meeting of Joachim and Anna and July 25 her Assumption.
This Saint lived the shame of childlessness, since in Jewish society it was a shame for a woman not to be able to give birth.
Studying her Holy Fathers Our church we learn that Saint Anna was endowed with many virtues, piety, justice, humility, charity, obedience to the will of God and her frequent participation in Worship.
Having, therefore, all these gifts, God claimed her to become in the flesh the grandmother of Christ the Savior.
Therefore, seeing these gifts of St. Anna, her patience and her strong faith in Him, he gave her a beautiful daughter, Mary, whom, after she was 3 years old, she dedicated to the Temple of God "as a pure gift and innocent ".
In the conscience, therefore, of the believers Saint Anna she holds a special position and is considered a privileged mother in God's plan for the salvation of the human race.
The justification for the great importance of this luminous feast of the Assumption of St. Anne does not consist in a simple reference to the whole feast.
The entire liturgy of the feast does nothing other than to constantly project the coming of Christ through His Holy Mother, and to present this with different words and multiple literary forms, with images and prototypes even from the Old Testament "the rod that sprouted from unfruitful loins, the Holy Theotokos, from whom the salvation of the world arose, Christ the God ", "of the despot's mother and poet's mother, Anna Paneukleis".
Thus, the Assumption of St. Anne functions as a reference and reductionist: through her our Lord Jesus Christ is honored and praised. "Μνήμην δικαίων τελοῦντες, σὲ ἀνυμνοῦμεν, Χριστέ".
If any man has any value, it is because God himself has graced and exalted him. The honor is given to this couple, to Saint Anna and Saint Joachim by God and it is not a favor of God without a reason.
Anna lived soberly and blameless manner, with fasts, prayers, alms to the poor until the day of her death, July 25.
This Saint is a great example to follow for us believers, but especially for androgynous and childless couples.
Her exemplary life, her unceasing prayer, but also her infinite love for God, her patience and strong faith teach us today after so many centuries that "what is impossible with men is possible with God".
What is left for us is not to bend easily in the difficulties of life, but to remain steadfast in our faith and love for God and with our unceasing prayer and almsgiving, at some point attracting the grace of God to give us what is most beneficial for the salvation of our soul.
