The Decalogue of Prayer 1 ′

Who is right way prayer? How to we pray, to reach God?

Follow the Decalogue of proper prayer. It is also called the Decalogue of Divine Prayer.

  1. Time is Sacred. It is a gift of God to Man. We must Sanctify this time daily with Prayer. Let us glorify the Holy Trinity and ask for the help of our Savior God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. Prayer is dialogue and communication with the living God. We must have a reverent attitude of the Body, an all-night spirit, and a deep awareness of what we are reading and saying at that moment to our Lord Jesus Christ.
  3. Prayer requires self-concentration and devotion, but many times during prayer we think of other things. We can beat that. Before we begin the prayer, if we read the words of an elder or a text from the New Testament, little by little our mind comes to the spiritual search. So we read the Prayer more concentrated. You think that reading a spiritual text is like warming our mind and heart to receive the prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  4. We always make sure that our minds are involved in Prayer. We do not read simply and mechanically. We try to keep our Mind in Christ, no matter how tired or affected we are. If we do not feel that we have participated in the Prayer we can repeat it.
  5. The most important thing of all is to do the point of the Cross correctly. It is the symbol of the Victory of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
  6. Prayer is done daily, not just when we are in need and want the Help of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Every day we sing the Trinitarian Troparions for the glory of the Holy Homous and Indivisible Trinity. We thank Christ for His mercy and the Holy Trinity. The only True God.
  7. When we pray it is necessary to have a crush on the soul and humility. We pray knowing our sins, which weigh on our consciences, and we ask the Lord to have mercy on us and give us forgiveness of sins. We do not hover between our emotions, We do not complain and We do not criticize others, as the Pharisees did.
  8. We pray fervently because we want to. Prayer is not a chore, It is not a duty that we do bored, We do not hurry as we do not do processing. Prayer is done with Love in the soul, because we want (thirst) to talk to Christ and thank Him or ask for His help.
  9. For Prayer we must secure the appropriate Space and Time. We find enough time so that we do not have to hurry, we find a quiet place to be undisturbed and we make sure to have a small iconostasis with Holy Icons, a lighted candle, incense burning and a candle.
  10. Prayer is practiced as an art that is constantly improving. We do not neglect Prayer. We do not postpone Prayer with excuses. We schedule the Prayer at a specific time, to make it a habit and we insist on keeping the times we have set. DO NOT forget that whenever we want to pray, the wicked one puts obstacles in their way. We must resist and keep praying. The Fathers say that the spiritual struggle with Prayer continues until our last breath.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Και νυν και αεί και εις τους αιώνας των αιώνων Αμήν.
