By the way Anastasios Kefalas Silivria, October 1, 1846 - Athens, November 9, 1920 is a modern saint of the Eastern Orthodox Church. He became a popular hierarch, pastor and educator in his late years 19rd with the beginning of the 20th century. Saint Nektarios performed miracles while he was still alive.

The persecution and the return to Athens

Sophronius, who was informed of the accusations, was convinced of the truth of the allegations, resulting in the immediate cessation of Nektarios' priestly status.

This was ecclesiastically illegal, as according to ecclesiastical law Nektarios had to appear before a Synod, which would consider the charges against him after a hearing.

Nektarios did not want to pull the strings and left Alexandria, unlike his opponents, who wanted his financial and moral damage.

Taking care to tarnish his name in Athens and Istanbul and withholding his salary. As a result, Nektarios was unable to work anywhere.

Nektarios was faced with another very difficult situation, as he had been many times from a young age.

He rented a small room on the outskirts of Athens, but was unable to pay the rent and had no money to feed himself.

His parallel expulsion, even at the government level, made it difficult to find work. He was trying to find a preacher position through Archbishop Germanos.

He, despite the sympathy he had for his face, was unable to help him, due to pressure from the Synod.

He reached out to the Minister of Education and Ecclesiastics, who, however, told him that due to the law, Nektarios did not have Greek citizenship and could not help.

Finally, after a while, thanks to the help of a man named Mela, who was a member of the government and had met him in Alexandria, he was appointed a preacher in Chalkida.

However, the reputation that followed him remained, as there was great suspicion, given the accusations against him, with the result that he was disapproved and stigmatized.

The restoration of the truth

In 1891, two years after the accusations against him and his removal from Alexandria, the government was still trying to oust him from his post. Then the plot and the plot against him were fully revealed.

It all started with the revelation that he was not getting the money owed to him and was working unpaid during his diocese.

Also, although he rightfully remained bishop of Pentapolis, since he had been illegally expelled, he did not receive any money.

His name was then cleared of any involvement in a moral scandal and all sorts of intriguing attempts against the Patriarch.

This, especially after the cruel behavior of the flock, made him likeable in front of the people in Chalkida. He then began to preach more comfortably.

His fame quickly spread farther than Chalkida, while the people showed great sympathy in his face. When the position of local bishop became vacant, he almost demanded his ascension to the throne.
