Description

Annunciation of the Virgin Icon 14X20 Gilded Wooden. With the word Evangelism we refer to the joyful news of the imminent birth of Jesus Christ.

With the word Evangelism refers to joy news about Christianity, the imminent birth of Jesus Christ, given by the Archangel Gabriel to Mary.

Also, with the same term we refer to the ecclesiastical feast of the Mother of God which is held on March 25 to commemorate this event.

According to the Evangelist Luke, the event of the Evangelism took place in Nazareth, this insignificant village that we do not find even in Old Testament, nor in Talmud, nor in his texts Joseph.

This despised area, from which people wondered if can what good is it? (John 1:46), is the home of the parents of Mary (Mary) and the mother of Jesus and possibly his memoirist Joseph.

Eventually, however, Nazareth was historically honored as his special homeland Jesus Christ's, of the so-called "Nazarene".

According to tradition and evidence drawn from many occult texts, the girl who was to become the mother of Jesus Christ, lived in a poor house in Nazareth,

where her daily life included, among other things, the spiritual pursuits imposed by her formal Jewish religion (prayer, study of Writer, participation in its worship events Synagogue).

Ο Luke after all, he describes Mary as a pious Judean (Lk. 2:22, 27, 39).

In the sixth month since his arrest Prodromou, The Archangel Gabriel, sent by the god, meets Maria at the place where she lived and greets her:

"Rejoice, glad Lord after you".

The "joy" of the angel is not a simple greeting, but reminds of the promises for his coming Lord in his holy city (

B.C. "Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion; preach, daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your king is coming to you…" Zach. 9: 9).

In this greeting, Maria reacts normally to a girl of about fourteen, who would have almost zero social interactions.

Gabriel's words "happy", "blessed are you" are not the ones a girl of a certain age and social status used to hear.

So he begins to wonder "vile is this embrace"

ie what origin (divine or not) was this greeting, perhaps accompanied by the example of the relevant experience that the Eva at Paradise.

The angel, seeing her hesitation, reassures her with the phrase "Do not be afraid",

similar ones we often find in Old and to New Testament in events of divine revelations (Μτ. 1:20, 14:27 -Mk. 5:36 -Lk. 1:13, 1:30, 2:10 - Ιησ. 1: 9, Kr. 6:23, Jer. 1: 8, Dan. 10:12 etc.).

Immediately afterwards he declares that he has found grace from God, which shows that Mary is now among those who have received God's favor (Gen. 6: 8, Ex. 33:13 etc.).

Next, Gabriel reveals the content of his gospel.

Mary is going to give birth to a son whom she will name Jesus and who “It is great”And will be recognized by all as “Son of the Most High".

To declare that this son will be the expected one Messiah, states its origin from David as foretold by the prophets and the eternity of his Kingdom according to Daniel:

The LORD God give him the throne of David his father, and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”(See 2Sam. 7:12 - Is. 9: 6-7 - Dan. 2:44, 4: 3, 6:26, 7:14).

Immediately after, Mary asks a reasonable question, which shows that Luke attaches great importance to Mary's virginity,

as in all his work he is interested in restraint (Lk 2:36, 14:26, 18:29) and for virginity (Πραξ. 21: 9).

Of course it mentions Mary's marriage to Joseph (Luke 1:27, 2: 5), because he sees in this fact the basis of the messianic legitimacy of Jesus (3:23 ex)

as the revelation of the god, always corresponds to the specific facts of history.

Her "marriage" with Joseph gave the necessary legitimacy to the events that followed, without any suspicion or reproach.

In this mystery of the birth of Jesus, behind the historical and social foreground, there is another sequence of things,

that which belongs to another nature of reality, which is not visible and accepted by all.

In the scriptures this sequence is expressed by pointing out that Jesus was only "the son of Mary ” and just “ενομίζετο ” as the son of Joseph (Luke 3:23).

So Luke emphasizes to the young wife that he is a virgin and this is evident from his objection to the angel,

when he announces to her that she will become the mother of the Messiah: “How is that, I know my man? ”

means: "How will this be done, since so far I do not have a marital relationship".

Lucas suggests that Maria asks not out of infidelity but to find out how, since she does not follow her question

a similar reward as in Zacharias who showed that he did not believe in the birth of the Forerunner (Lk. 1:20).

Maybe Maria understands that she will become a mother immediately, as happened to his mother Samson which she conceived as soon as her angel announced her motherhood (Κρ. 13: 5-8).

Mary's question leads Gabriel to announce to her the virgin conception of Jesus in a supernatural way.

For the majority of Christians, the verse

"Holy spirit descends upon you and the powers of the Most High overshadow you, and the born saint is called the Son of God" is interpreted as "Triadologically", which means that in this verse the three persons of the Holy Trinity:

The father (forces of the highest), the son (son of God) and Holy Spirit (Holy spirit is coming).

Then the angel goes on, and as a confirmation of God's power in this matter of conception,

brings the example of Elizabeth who although she was advanced in age was already in the sixth month of her pregnancy.

At the end of the Gospel passage, an important, theological message is contained: Gabriel has finished his gospel

to the Virgin, but not his mission.

He is waiting for Maria's consent. For Luke, not even such a great energy of God deprives man of the gift of co-creation

In the face of the unexpected call that Gabriel announces to her, Mary is interested in understanding God's call.

When Mary is fully enlightened, she accepts, and her ministry is, above all, freedom.
