Holy Trinity Icon 20X26cm Wooden Gilded. The Image is specially treated with varnish to have maximum resistance to time and damage.

The icon is wooden, flat in a classic ecclesiastical design, gilded with a special technique that makes it more brilliant than gold printing. With a traditional red border and made of MDF wood, it makes it durable over time.

This is the Second type of image that exists and is accepted by the Church and is the representation of the three Persons of the Holy Trinity, that is, the Father as an Elder, the Son depicted from His right hand and the Holy Spirit in the form of a Dove.

This type of depiction of her Holy Trinity, refers to the last Byzantine and especially to the post-Byzantine times due to western influence.

In Byzantine iconography, the Father is not depicted, but is usually represented by the Son for two reasons:

First, because the Father did not take on flesh, as the Son did His Incarnation and therefore no one has seen God the Father.

Secondly, because each Person of the Holy Trinity is the whole God.

An exception to this rule is the representation of God the Father as the "Ancient of Days".

This characterization has been taken from the prophetic book of Daniel (7,9) and declares the eternity of God.
