Saint Evmenios Saridakis Icon 26x20cm Wooden. Church icon Saint Eumenios Saridakis crafted to its standards Byzantine style . The icon is wooden, flat in a classic ecclesiastical design, gilded with a special technique that makes it more brilliant than gold printing. Geron Eumenios was born in 1931 in Ethia Monofatsiou, Heraklion Prefecture, Crete and was the eighth child of a poor and faithful family.

He became a monk at the age of 17 and was severely tested by leprosy.

Because of the leprosy, Father Eumenios came to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Agia Varvara, Athens, where he was treated.

However, the contact with human suffering led him to make the decision to remain in the Hospital as a priest, to help as much as possible the people who were suffering.

The priest officiated at the church of the saints Anargyros, Doctors Kosmas & Damianos, inside the Infectious Diseases.
Elder Porphyrios said of Elder Eumenius:

Go and receive the wish of Elder Eumenius, because he is the hidden Saint of our days. You can find Elder Eumenios every two hundred years.

He helped the lepers of the Infectious Diseases of St. Barbara, where he entered as a patient with leprosy and after being healed, he remained as a priest.

At the Infectious Diseases Hospital he met the leprous monk Nikiforos, who, although blinded by his illness, became a great spiritual father and teacher of Elder Eumenios.

The Management of the Station, because he was a monk, gave him a small cell, next to the church of Agioi Anargyroi, where he lived all his life.
