Saint Myron, who came from Crete, from the city of Aurakia near Knossos, was distinguished from a young age for his zeal and his deep faith in God.
After he got married, he engaged in cultivating the land. From what he produced he gave a portion to the poor and the more he gave, the more his harvest increased.
His sympathy Saint to the poor, it exceeded every measure.
In fact, it is said that he once caught some people in the warehouse stealing his wheat and instead of chasing them, he instead helped them by carrying the sacks himself.
For all these virtues, Myron was ordained a priest.
After the persecution of the Christians stopped, he became a despot on the episcopal throne of Crete.
During the years he was despot in Crete, he performed many miracles.
One of them is the following: Once the Saint wanted to cross the river Triton and the river was flooded.
Then the Saint commanded and the flow of the river stopped and the waters did not advance until the moment when Myron crossed again and went to his home.
When he arrived there, he sent his staff with some people who stirred the waters with it and so the waters returned to their normal flow.
Saint Myron did these and many other things until his death, who died at the age of one hundred.
