Ο orthodox hagiographer based on the above information of the apocryphal narrative and the Church's dogmatic teaching about the Virgin composes the image of the Introductions.

The main figure of the icon is the three-year-old Virgin Mary. It depicts the moment when she is received in the temple by the priest Zacharias, the later father of Prodromos, as she is reverently handed over by her pious parents. Behind them follow the virgins, "the asbestos daughters of the Jews," holding lighted lamps.

The Virgin Mary is not painted naturally. In other words, she does not show anything childlike, except for the small size of her body. This is done on purpose.

The Orthodox hagiographer wants to take us away from the letter of the story ("three-year-old child"), in order to capture its spirit, its ecclesiological dimension.

Panagia is the Theotokos, the Mother of God. That's why the hymnist calls us to "infant nature, and for nature's Mother, we have become the Mother of God, let us praise him with hymns" (Tropary of the text).

The Virgin Mary is depicted as a mature woman with her well-known maforio, as we see her in her icons.

The hymnist of the Church does the same for the candles of the virgins.

The lighted candles were not intended to prevent the three-year-old child from going back to her home, as she was on the way to the temple - this is what the occult narrative says - but this: to indicate the imaginary candle, the Virgin Mary, and thus demonstrate the unspeakable future glamour.

This glory would be Christ, because from the Virgin Mary he would shine (be born) illuminating the people sitting in the darkness of sin.

This symbolism is presented in the fourth verse similar to the vespers, sound four "You young women who rejoice and hold the lamp, of the lamp today go ahead of the thinker and introduce her into the Holy of Holies sacredly looking forward to the future ineffable glory from her kindle and illuminate the it kills those who are silent, of ignorance in the Spirit".
