Spiritual Awakening Second Sermons of Agios Paisios 375p. This is the second volume from the series of books written by Elder Paisios, who created the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Theologus in Souroti as dictated by Agios Paisios himself, who was also the Spiritual Master of the Monastery.

Today he is buried there and the pilgrimage receives thousands of believers every year.

This second volume consists of five parts.

The first part refers to the general indifference and irresponsibility seen in our day and the duty of the conscientious Christian to help the situation by self-correction, prudent conduct, profession of faith, and prayer.

This opportunity would be envied, as the Elder said, by the Saints.

"Many Saints would beg to live in our time, to fight. We found ourselves... We were not worthy! At least let's acknowledge it. In order to deal with this period correctly, it is necessary to especially cultivate chivalry and the spirit of sacrifice".

In the fourth part, which refers to divine providence, faith and trust in God, and divine help, one is led to the source, from which one derives the strength to face any difficulty.

Finally, in the fifth part, the necessity and power of heart prayer is emphasized, which is a powerful weapon in the fight against evil, which is spreading more and more.

The monks are called to be in a "state of alert", like soldiers in wartime, to continually help the world with prayer, and to take care that the genuine spirit of Monasticism is not altered, so that it remains leaven for future generations.

This last part closes with the chapter that defines what is the deepest meaning of life and points out the need for repentance.
