Saint Cosmas of Aetolia or Patrocosmas 64 p

Ο Saint Cosmas of Aetolia (1714 - August 24, 1779), also known as Patrocosmas, was a Greek Orthodox monk.

His worldly name was Constantius, while his surname, thanks to the reports of the Venetian fortune tellers, which have been saved in the state archives of Venice, we know that he was an Esochoritis.

In 1961 it was proclaimed saint of the Orthodox Church and is celebrated on August 24.

Its action is connected with the older religious humanism.

He was born in Aetolia and as he states vaguely My homeland is Greece from Apokouron.

According to the biographer and contemporary of Nikodimos Agioreitis, he was born in the village of Mega Dendro Apokourou near Thermo, while some scholars consider the neighboring Taxiarchis to be a possible birthplace.

The year of birth is 1714, because Nicodemus of Mount Athos mentions that he died at the age of 65.

Papakyriakou and Konstas place it in 1700-1707.

It is believed by Christians that he had prophetic and miraculous abilities.

In 2016 he was proclaimed Protector of the Forest Service of Greece and its employees
