Recipe for Agioreitika melomakaroni

The recipe for the traditional melomakarona takes just one hour to execute while it is perfectly combined with the genuine and unadulterated Mount Athos honey.
Choose between Mount Athos honey you whisper, pine, heather with pine, oak, flowers and fir. You can also if you do not want to be too sweet to use brown honey that people who have sugar can try!

Ingredients for the syrup
Beat the oil with the sugar.
Dissolve the soda and the baking powder in the brandy and add them to the oil with the sugar.
Add the remaining ingredients (except the flour) and mix well.
Then slowly add the flour (it may not take all) and knead until the dough does not stick to our hands.
Shape the melomakarona, place them in an oiled pan and bake in a medium oven for half an hour. Prepare the syrup and leave it to cool.
When we take the melomakarona out of the oven, we dip them in the syrup and put them on a plate. Pour grated walnut kernels on top.
